Prior to commending her Juris Doctor candidature in 2020, Jessica developed a career in journalism beginning with KTVXNews4 Utah as an Assignment Editor during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Jessica later relocated to the Middle East and returned to Australia with ABC in 2011. Whilst reporting in Canberra, she completed a Master of Islam in the Modern World from the ANU’s College of Arab and Islamic Studies. After developing a fifteen-year career in journalism, intercultural and Islam/West relations, Jessica made a career pivot into law to pursue her interest in how the law can be used to make change. She currently holds the roles of Communications and PR Specialist with the national workplace compliance platform Safetrac and is undertaking the Human Rights Law Program as Paralegal Volunteer with the Asylum Seeker Resources Centre. She is also Press Officer with the Morocco Australia Friendship Association.
